Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training

The emphasis of the ASIST workshop is on suicide first-aid, to help a person at risk stay safe and seek further help. This 2-day workshop will provide participants with the necessary skills to help a person at risk of suicide.

The workshop is for all caregivers (any person in a position of trust). It is suitable for mental health professionals, nurses, physicians, teachers, counselors, school support staff, youth workers, police and correctional staff, clergy and community volunteers.

ASIST workshop is held on two consecutive days between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm and participants must attend both days.

The cost for the ASIST workshop is $203.40(HST included) per participant. Lunch not included.

Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training - Tune-Up (Refresher)

The ASIST Tune-Up applies to those individuals who have completed ASIST. The TUNE-UP Workshop is a half-day program which focuses on dispelling a few notions about suicide, on tuning up the suicide risk review and safe plan guide, the suicide intervention model as well as reviewing available resources.

Generally, ASIST TuneUp, training refresher, is suggested within three years of the initial ASIST workshop, with the full two-day ASIST workshop to be re-taken every five years.

The cost for the half-day workshop is $67.80 ($60.00 + HST).
