Living Life to the Full 55+

Want to know how to feel happier, more confident, and worry less right now? Would you like to learn new ways of dealing with what life throws at you? Living Life to the Full is a fun and interactive course that will help you understand your feelings, thoughts, and behaviors, and what to do about them!

Congratulations, you’re about to change your life!

Too much to do? Is someone close to you is ill? Can’t sleep? Feeling lonely? The way you feel is affected by things that happen to you, and you feel bad because you’re in a vicious cycle. Learn how to stop the cycle!

Living Life to the Full is a mental health promotion course designed to help people deal with everyday life challenges and learn self-management skills using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) principles. Course content and materials are practical and easily applied to everyday life situations.

What you learn:

✔ Self-confidence

✔ Problem-solving

✔ Stress management

✔ Motivation

✔ Dealing with unhelpful thoughts

✔ Anger management

 

When: Every Thursday from January 11th – February 29th (8 weeks)

Time: 10:00am - 11:30pm

Cost: Free

Deadline to register: January 10th

Refreshments will be provided. If you attend at least 6 of the 8 sessions, you will be entered to win a prize.

Mood Walks is designed to encourage and support the mental and physical health of participants through education, exposure to the healing effects of nature, participation in physical activity and engagement with their community.  Group activities such as the Mood Walks program can promote social interaction and provide opportunities for peer support.

Winter Themes Include:

Session #1: Get social (communication/into) winter season

Session #2: Mindfulness (5,4,3,2,1)

Session #3: Optimism (rose coloured glasses

Session #4: Self-care (slow-down winter care activities)

 

LOCATION: Cornwall Square (Main Entrance)

DATES: Every Monday in January (9,16,23,30) 2024

TIME: 9:00am - 10:00am

WHAT TO EXPECT: 30 minute walk outdoors (indoors if inclement weather) followed by a 30 minute discussion around the weekly theme.

**Following the walk, participants are encouraged to join us at the newly renovated food court to warm up with a FREE refreshment.
