In the Know is a four-hour mental health literacy workshop created specifically to educate the agricultural community. Designed to fit with farmers/producers’ schedules, it distills critical information and incorporates the agricultural community culture. In the Know is meant for farmers, producers and persons with whom they have regular contact, including family members, peers and allies in the agricultural industry such as veterinarians, breeders, seed or feed salespeople, financial institutions, accountants or other community members. The course provides education on topics such as stress, depression, anxiety, substance misuse and how to start a conversation around mental well-being.

LivingWorks safeTALK
Develop suicide alertness and safety connection skills
LivingWorks safeTALK provides in-depth skills to recognize signs of suicide, engage someone, and ensure a connection to safety. The in-person format includes powerful audiovisuals and live practice. This course is delivered in a ½ day format from 1:00pm - 4:30pm. (15 min break)
LivingWorks safeTALK is a 3.5-hour face-to-face workshop featuring powerful presentations, audiovisuals, and skills practice.
At a LivingWorks safeTALK workshop, you'll learn how to prevent suicide by recognizing signs, engaging someone, and connecting them to an intervention resource for further support.
A skilled, supportive trainer will guide you through the course, and a community resource will be on hand to support your safety and comfort.

MHFA Basic
MHFA Basic is intended for adults interacting with adults (18 years and older). This course focuses on the four most common mental health disorders including substance related, mood related, anxiety and trauma related, and psychotic disorders. Participants who take this course are well prepared to interact confidently about mental health with their family, friends, communities, and workplaces. This 2 day program is delivered over 12 hours. 9am - 4 pm (1 hour lunch). Lunch is the responsibility of the participant and is not included in the fee.
Course Objectives
In the MHFA course, you will gain a solid understanding of the 5 basic actions of ALGEE:
Assess the risk of suicide and/or harm
Listen non-judgmentally
Give reassurance
Encourage professional support
Encourage other supports
ALGEE is the framework for having a confident conversation about mental health with family, friends, colleagues, and strangers.
Key outcomes
International evaluations and feedback have found the following outcomes for participants undertaking an MHFA course:
Increased awareness of signs and symptoms of the most common mental health problems

Participants who take this course are well prepared to interact confidently about mental health with the young people in their lives, including at schools, extra-curricular activities, social services, family, friends, and communities. This 2 day program is delivered over 12 hours. 9am - 4 pm (1 hour lunch). Lunch is the responsibility of the participant and is not included in the fee.
